Sister Uyen-Chi Dang, ACJ

Sister Uyen-Chi was born in Viet Nam, but grew up in California since her family took refuge in the United States after the Fall of Saigon.  She graduated from the University of California with a BS in Bioengineering.  After a few years of working as a researcher for a pharmaceutical company, she went back to school to pursuit a career in education.   She was a high school math teacher for 7 years and a confirmation catechist for 9 years before becoming a Handmaid of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Theology from Villanova.  She had been the Director of Religious Education and a religion teacher at Ancillae-Assumpta Academy.  For the past 26 years, she has been making and studying the Spiritual Exercises with Jesuits.  She is happy to be back at Saint Raphaela Center and excited to serve as a staff member of the Center.
