Jeanne V. Mazzariello

Jeanne Mazzariello, a native of the area, has served in teaching and ministerial roles for some 40 years. Jeanne holds an undergraduate degree in Education and MA degrees in both Theology and Pastoral Counseling. Jeanne has earned Certifications in Teaching, Lay Ministry and Spiritual Direction. Jeanne was trained as a Spiritual Director as part of the first cohort at the Murphy Center for Ignatian Spirituality and feels privileged to serve as part of the College of Directors.

Jeanne has been a member of the staff of Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden, CT for the past 27 years, serving in multiple roles, including Chair of the Theology Department, as well as Director of Campus Ministry. She was charged with the development of the Kairos Retreat Program as Sacred Heart and holds the distinction of being the school’s first Pastoral Counselor, a role that she has served in for the past 12 years.

Being contemplative by nature and justice seeking by conviction, her passion is to assist individuals and communities as they grow in right relationship within themselves, with their God, one another, and with the world around them. Jeanne’s greatest passion, however, and what she sees as God’s greatest blessings in her life, is her family. She has been married for 39 years, has three adult children, and three beautiful grandchildren.
