Jaclyn Newns

Jaclyn Newns identifies as an artist, retreat facilitator, minister and spiritual director. She leans into the vocation of creating spaces of beauty, introspection, reflection. Having studied the impact of visual arts on spiritual formation at the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, Jackie utilizes photography, watercolor, clay, and mixed media as approachable prayer practices, alongside the sharing of one’s narrative through spiritual direction. Since 2010, she has served educational and pastoral communities in the Philadelphia and Boston areas through retreats and presentations. Jackie enjoys companioning those looking to expand their images of the Divine, integrate creativity into their prayer lives, or sift through the personal identities which influence and enhance one’s relationship with God. She currently serves as the Philadelphia Coordinator of the Office of Ignatian Spirituality’s Contemplative Leaders in Action Program in Philadelphia and the Director of Communications for the St. Raphaela Center and Handmaid of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  She lives in Wyncote with her wife and finds joy in floral design.
