Companions in Matrescence: A Retreat Day for Mothers
With Megan O’Sullivan
February 15, 2025
Matrescence – the process of becoming a mother – is the developmental passage of biological, psychological, spiritual, and social changes as a woman transitions from pre-conception to postpartum and beyond. ~ adapted from Aurélie Athan, Ph.D.
Whether you are a brand-new mother, have several children under your wing, or admire your grown children from afar, there is beauty. There is chaos. There is unyielding worry and limitless love. No matter your experience of motherhood, you deserve some time and space to slow down with yourself and other mothers. Come as you are and explore themes such as identity, mental health, and finding God in the seismic shifts and glimmers of motherhood. Be nourished through a day of reflection, sharing, listening, prayer, meals you don’t have to cook yourself, and community.
Our retreat day will run from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
